Hungry Artist Games

Heads up, today is the last day to enter the ARC salon!  Dave and I have said so before, and I'll say it again: it's a good thing to have a big, central competition for everyone from all the different walks of representational art to compete and mingle in.  One cool thing is how the ARC has been developing equal opportunity for illustrators to compete by adding a category for imaginary realism.  It's nice to have those creative and ambitious jerks drive home for us realist fine artists just how lame our mug shot portraits and overly precious little "life studies" are.

A brief history of the ARC Salon: The annual salon was started as an effort to unite in competitive spirit the twelve districts that formerly comprised the countries and regions of pre-apocalyptic North America.  Twenty-four young people, two from each of the twelve districts of Panem, are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle royal.  The lone survivor, crippled with PTSD and survivor guilt for the rest of his or her life, will be awarded with riches and fame.  Don't expect any adorable Peeta/Katniss type teamwork in this artist household.
